Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface at comfortable working height.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift carefully from carrying case.
  2. Position machine: Place on sturdy table with adequate workspace.
  3. Connect foot pedal: Plug into machine port on right side.
  4. Connect power: Plug power cord into machine and wall outlet.
  5. Install accessories: Attach standard presser foot.

First-Time Setup

Threading the Machine

Proper threading ensures smooth operation and quality stitches.

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place thread spool on spool pin at top of machine.
  3. Follow numbered threading path: Guide thread through each tension disk and take-up lever.
  4. Use automatic needle threader: Lower lever, hook thread, release to pull through needle eye.
  5. Pull thread under presser foot toward back of machine.

Tip: Always thread with presser foot raised to open tension disks.

Basic Sewing Operations

Fundamental sewing techniques for beginners.

  1. Straight Stitch: Select stitch pattern 1, adjust length as needed.
  2. Zigzag Stitch: Select pattern 2, adjust width for desired zigzag.
  3. Reverse Stitching: Hold reverse lever to reinforce seam beginnings/ends.
  4. Changing Presser Feet: Lift lever to release, snap on new foot.
  5. Buttonhole Making: Select buttonhole stitch, use automatic one-step function.
  6. Free Arm Sewing: Remove accessory tray for sewing sleeves and cuffs.
  7. Gathering: Use longer stitch length and tightened upper tension.

WARNING! Never pull fabric while sewing - let feed dogs move fabric naturally.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Brush out lint from bobbin area and feed dogs.
  2. Weekly: Oil moving parts as indicated in manual (use sewing machine oil only).
  3. Monthly: Clean tension disks with soft brush or unthreaded floss.
  4. Needle Replacement: Change needle after every 8 hours of sewing or for new project.
