Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface at comfortable working height.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift carefully from carrying case.
  2. Position machine: Place on sturdy table or sewing cabinet.
  3. Connect foot pedal: Plug into machine's pedal port.
  4. Connect power: Plug power cord into machine and wall outlet.
  5. Install accessories: Attach standard presser foot and needle.

First-Time Setup

Prepare machine for first use with proper threading and bobbin installation.

  1. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to back, tighten screw.
  2. Wind bobbin: Place empty bobbin on winder, thread through tension disc, press winder to start.
  3. Insert bobbin: Place wound bobbin in bobbin case following directional arrows.
  4. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered threading path from spool to needle.
  5. Use needle threader: Lower threader lever to automatically thread needle.
  6. Pull up bobbin thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you to bring up bobbin thread.

CAUTION! Always turn power off when threading needle or changing accessories.

Stitch Selection: Turn dial to select desired stitch pattern (1-12).

Stitch Length: Adjust from 0 (darning) to 4 (basting).

Stitch Width: Adjust zigzag width from 0-5mm.

Reverse Stitch: Press and hold to sew in reverse for reinforcement.

Tension Control: Adjust upper thread tension (3-4 for normal sewing).

Threading the Machine

Proper threading is essential for optimal sewing performance.

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place spool on spool pin at top of machine.
  3. Follow numbered threading path: Through first thread guide, down to tension discs, up to take-up lever, through final guide.
  4. Use automatic needle threader: Lower lever, hook thread, release lever to pull thread through needle.
  5. Pull both threads under presser foot toward back of machine.

Tip: Always thread machine with presser foot raised to open tension discs.

Basic Sewing Operations

Fundamental sewing techniques for common projects.

  1. Straight stitch: Select stitch 1, adjust length as needed (2.5mm for medium weight fabrics).
  2. Zigzag stitch: Select stitch 2, adjust width for seam finishing or stretch fabrics.
  3. Buttonhole: Select buttonhole stitch, place fabric under foot, machine sews complete buttonhole automatically.
  4. Reverse stitching: Hold reverse button at beginning and end of seams to lock stitches.
  5. Free arm sewing: Remove extension table for sewing sleeves, cuffs, and other cylindrical items.
  6. Changing presser feet: Lift lever to release current foot, snap on new foot until it clicks.

WARNING! Never pull fabric while sewing - let feed dogs move fabric automatically.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Brush out lint from bobbin area and feed dogs.
  2. Weekly: Oil hook race and moving parts with sewing machine oil.
  3. Monthly: Clean tension discs with folded fabric or dental floss.
  4. As needed: Replace needle after 8-10 hours of sewing or if damaged.

CAUTION! Unplug machine before cleaning or maintenance. Use only sewing machine oil.
