Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable sewing table.

  1. Remove packaging materials and protective covers.
  2. Place machine on flat, stable surface at comfortable height.
  3. Connect foot control pedal to machine.
  4. Plug power cord into electrical outlet.
  5. Install needle according to markings.
  6. Wind and insert bobbin following threading diagram.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Always turn off when not in use.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; follow basic setup procedure.

  1. Thread upper thread through guides and needle using automatic threader.
  2. Pull up bobbin thread by holding upper thread and turning handwheel.
  3. Select basic straight stitch for initial testing.
  4. Practice on scrap fabric to adjust tension and stitch settings.
  5. Experiment with different stitch patterns and speeds.

CAUTION! Always use proper needle for fabric type. Replace bent or damaged needles immediately.

Stitch Selection

Supports utility, decorative, and stretch stitches.

  1. Turn stitch selection dial to desired pattern number.
  2. Adjust stitch length for fabric type and purpose.
  3. Set stitch width for zigzag and decorative stitches.
  4. Test stitch on fabric scrap before starting project.
  5. Use reverse stitch to secure beginning and end of seams.
  6. For buttonholes: Use automatic buttonhole function with appropriate foot.
  7. For decorative stitches: Use stabilizer for best results.

WARNING! Always lower presser foot before sewing. Never pull fabric through machine.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Unplug machine before cleaning or maintenance.
  2. Remove needle plate and clean lint buildup with brush.
  3. Oil machine according to manufacturer instructions.
  4. Wipe exterior with soft, dry cloth.
  5. Replace needle regularly (every 8-10 hours of sewing).
  6. Check bobbin area for lint accumulation.

CAUTION! Use only Pfaff recommended needles and accessories. Do not use compressed air for cleaning.

Troubleshooting
