Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface at comfortable working height.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift carefully from carrying case.
  2. Position machine: Place on sturdy table with adequate workspace around it.
  3. Connect power: Plug foot pedal into machine, then plug power cord into wall outlet.
  4. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side toward back, tighten screw.
  5. Attach presser foot: Lift presser foot lever, snap appropriate foot into place.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Always turn off power when threading or changing needles.

First-Time Operation

Stitch Length Dial: Turn clockwise for longer stitches, counterclockwise for shorter stitches. Reverse Stitch Lever: Press and hold to sew backwards. Thread Tension Dial: Higher numbers for tighter tension. Bobbin Winder: Push bobbin to right to engage winding mechanism. Hand Wheel: Turn toward you to raise/lower needle manually.

Recommended settings: Light fabrics (1-2mm stitch length), medium fabrics (2.5-3mm), heavy fabrics (3-4mm). Normal tension setting: 4-5.

Threading the Machine

Follow numbered threading path marked on machine.

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place spool on spindle, secure with cap if needed.
  3. Follow threading guide: Through first thread guide, around tension discs, up take-up lever, down to needle.
  4. Thread needle from front to back.
  5. Pull about 4 inches of thread toward back of machine.

Tip: Always thread with presser foot raised to open tension discs.

Basic Sewing Operations

Master these fundamental techniques for successful sewing.

  1. Starting to sew: Place fabric under presser foot, lower foot, hold thread tails, begin sewing slowly.
  2. Straight stitching: Guide fabric gently, don't push or pull.
  3. Reverse stitching: Press reverse lever at beginning and end of seams.
  4. Turning corners: Stop with needle in fabric, lift presser foot, pivot fabric, lower foot, continue sewing.
  5. Finishing seams: Reverse stitch, raise needle and presser foot, pull fabric to back, trim threads.
  6. Using free arm: Remove accessory tray for sewing sleeves and pant legs.

WARNING! Never sew over pins. Remove pins before they reach presser foot.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Brush out lint from bobbin area and feed dogs.
  2. Weekly: Oil moving parts with sewing machine oil (2-3 drops).
  3. Monthly: Remove needle plate and clean underneath.
  4. As needed: Replace needle after 8-10 hours of sewing.

CAUTION! Unplug machine before cleaning or maintenance. Use only sewing machine oil.
